Privacy Policy

This is a small, family-friendly site. We collect as little information as possible and never sell or share it. Here's exactly what happens with your data.
What we store
- Account info: the username and email address you give us at signup, and a one-way hash of your password (we never see or store your real password — even we can't read it).
- Gift contents: the title, written message, photos, and voice recording for each gift you create.
- A session cookie while you're logged in, so the site knows it's still you. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers.
- Basic server logs kept by our web host (IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps). These are standard for any website and used only to diagnose problems.
What we do NOT do
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone — ever.
- We don't run ads.
- We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking script.
- We don't try to identify your "demographics", "interests", or location beyond what's in the standard server log.
Who can see what
- Your draft gifts are private — only you can see them when you're logged in.
- Your published gifts are visible to anyone who has the unique link. The link contains a long random string that's effectively unguessable, but it isn't password-protected, so anyone you forward the link to can view it.
- Site administrators have access to the database and uploaded files for the purpose of running the service and removing inappropriate content. They will not share or use your content for any other purpose.
How long we keep your data
Your account, gifts, photos, and recordings are kept until you delete them from your dashboard, or until your account is removed. When you delete a gift, the associated photo and audio files are removed from the server.
If the site shuts down, all data will be deleted within a reasonable timeframe.
Children
This site is designed to be used by children with a parent's help. If you're a parent, you can review or remove your child's gifts at any time by signing in to their account. If you'd like an account or content removed and don't have access, contact the site operator.
Your rights
You can:
- Download or copy any of your photos and recordings — they're at the URLs shown on your dashboard.
- Delete any gift, photo, or recording at any time.
- Request account deletion via the contact below.
Security
Passwords are stored using bcrypt, a one-way hashing algorithm. The site uses HTTPS in transit. No system is perfect, though — please use a strong, unique password and don't reuse it from other sites.
